TOPIC: Receive, Nurture and Increase Abundantly
SCRIPTURE: John3:27 “A person cannot receive even one thing unless it is given him from heaven.”
MESSAGE: To increase simply means to multiply or grow great. Our God in heaven being a good Father always provide for our needs and gives us the grace to increase and multiply what we receive from Him and experience a TURNING POINTS in our lives. The bible tells us in 1 Corinthian10:26 that “the earth is the Lord’s and everything in it”. God sits in eternity and gives everything His children need on earth to fulfill destiny and promote the kingdom such as wisdom, knowledge, family, jobs, good health and power to make wealth. He also gives political power to leaders and command all men to submit to them (Romans 13:1). This is why it is sheer foolishness for anybody to call himself a self-made man because without God we can do or be nothing (John15:5).
In life, we must understand that whatever we receive from God and nurture to increase usually come first like a small seed. When we graciously receive the seed from God, plant and faithfully water it, the seed is bound to grow and bear fruits in 30, 60 or 100 folds. This mark of increase requires faithful husbandry be the receiver like a devoted gardener. It is this faithful nurturing of what you receive that makes God to give the increase.
The bible affirms this truth in Luke 16:10 when it says that “Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much”. It states further in Matthew 25:23 that “His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You were faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things; enter into the joy of your master.”
The fearful and sad dimension to the above scriptures is that the unfaithful servant who received and abused the gift will unfortunately have what he had earlier received taken away from him and added to the faithful servant.
Friends what have you received from God? It is a beautiful wife, husband, loving children or a good job? Has God given you a political position or placed you to sit among the high and mighty in the society? Are you minister of God? Whatever you have received from God irrespective of its size or quantity, just be faithful and careful to nurture it to increase and not abuse and have it taken away from you.
No matter what is going on in your life right now. It doesn’t matter the mistake you may have made as a leader, husband, wife, father, mother, son, daughter, politician or minister of God etc. I want you to come humbly before God and ask him to give you another chance to receive from him and nurture the gift faithfully to increase.
PRAYER: My Father and my God, I thank you for all that I have received from you (name them) since my arrival in this world. Forgive me for what I received from you and abused. Lord visit me afresh with new packages (name them) and give me the grace to nurture them for more increase in Jesus name-Amen.
