Insecurity and Buhari’s limping Presidency
Is the Buhari’s government only good as sharp shooter at #Endsars protesters? Is the army only good in butchering innocent protester clothed in the National flag?
Daily Trust newspaper reported today that Boko Haram insurgents have shot down a Nigerien helicopter carrying unidentified passengers in Bama local government area of Borno state. In another news report on the activities of bandit and kidnappers along Kaduna -Abuja road, it is believed that several people were killed this week by armed bandits along that route. In Buhari’s home state of katsina, bandits have almost balkanized the state and took hold of a chunk as their fiefdom terrorizing the poor agrarian citizens day and night.
When Buhari came into power in 2015, he promised to wipe out boko haram within three months. We all believed him because he is a former general now president with over 100,000 man military behind. Over five years down the line, he has completely failed to defeat boko haram, a rag tag insurgent group using only small arms and light weapons. Now in my dumfounded fate, Iam beginning to wonder whether boko haram, Fulani herdsmen and Kaduna state bandits are not structures incubated and cuddled for a specific agenda. Time will tell. It will surely tell
