I have tried to remain quiet on all the writings on Udom Inoyo, my most excellent former ExxonMobil in – country Vice Chairman and the second best performed Nigerian HR leader in ExxonMobil Nigeria after Solomon Oladuni but at this point my spirit does not allow me.
Permit me to say here what I know about Barrister Udom Inoyo after my brief introduction of myself.
My name is Elder (Dr.) Idongesit Demas Udom, Founder/
I also held the following key positions before retirement in ExxonMobil:
1. Terminal Mainteance and Operations Supervisor, Bonny River Terminal 1997 – 2002.
2. Senior Operations Supervisor, Idoho 2002 – 2003
3. Operations Superintendent,
4. Export Transportation Systems Operations Superintendent incharge of Chad – Cameroon Oil in Douala, Cameroon (COTCO) 2009 – 2011 (21/2 years).
5. Greenfield Projects Start-up Superintendent 2011 – 2014.
Udom Inoyo was very very committed to the development of Akwa Ibom State and Akwa Ibom indigenes in Mobil Producing Nigeria, Eket and Lagos. He had his managerial/
Udom Inoyo was instrumental to my promotion for an example to the position of Export Transportation Systems Operations Superintendent in COTCO, Douala, Cameroon in 2009. He had also mentored and helped many other Akwa Ibom indigenes to be promoted to various exalted positions without making noise.
Even after retirement, Inoyo in 2017 came to present an Inaugural speech in Sure Foundation Polytechnic, Ikot Akai during the inauguration and first matriculation of the Polytechnic.
In 2017 when I was kidnapped and my right hand chopped off by the Kidnappers, Udom Inoyo who was on annual Vacation with his family in Houston, Texas had to fly into Uyo to see me in the hospital and planned a way forward for my medical treatment and restoration, a feat that was only second to that of the governor of Akwa Ibom State, His Excellency, Deacon Udom Emmanuel.
As an HR director before becoming In-country Vice Chairman for ExxonMobil Nigeria, Udom Inoyo had played a leading role in the hiring of senior staff and the promotions of Supervisors, Superintendents
But Udom Inoyo did not and nobody in his position would have come down from Lagos to Eket to employ technicians and Craftsmen into Mobil Producing Nigeria. That function was delegated to us as Superintendents
Finally, permit me to say that Barrister Udom Inoyo is a de-tribalized, focused, exposed, experienced and well trained leader. If he is given an opportunity to govern Akwa Ibom State, I strongly believe Udom Inoyo will take Akwa Ibom State to an enviable level of development.
