The Lord is your Strong Tower
SCRIPTURE: Proverbs 18:10 “The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runs into it, and is safe”.
MESSAGE: The world that we live in is a war theatre where the devil through its agents unleashes attacks on God people every day. In prosecuting its mission to steal, kill and destroy, the devil will attack your health, career, job, family, marriage, children, ministry, happiness etc. Those attacks are usually panned and concluded at the spirit realm by the devil and its agents before they are unleashed on God’s people at the physical realm.
One of the greatest spiritual weapons to confront the devil is the name of the Lord prescribed in our anchor scripture under the metaphor of the strong tower. The power in the name of the Lord is further stated in Philippians 2: 9-11 “Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father.”
Friends, the names of Jesus is the most powerful name in heaven and on earth. God gave Jesus the “name that is above every name” because of the sacrifice He made through living a perfect life, dying a sinner’s death, and being resurrected. Jesus made a way for all of humanity to be saved and make it right with God. Thus, in Romans 10:13 the bible says “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved”. In other words, the simple message here is that the name of Jesus Christ is more powerful than a strong tower. At the mention of the name, Sickness must bow, poverty must bow, lack, strife, division, brokenness and every form of evil must bow its knee and make way for Jesus. At the very mention of His name things change, and all things are possible.
PRAYER: My father and my God I run to you in total surrender. I have no strength of my own to confront the devil and its agents attacking everything I hold dear. In the name of Jesus Christ, I called on every opposing force to my life, health, prosperity, career, marriage, ministry (name them) to bow in Jesus name-Amen.
